Podcast
Introduction
One of many ways to listen to LibriVox books is to download them as podcasts! Each book or project has its own podcast feed, with each chapter or audio section as its own "episode". Browse our catalog to find your next listen, copy its RSS feed into your favorite pod-catcher, and enjoy!

New to Podcasts?
A podcast is a news feed full of audio files, which can be listened to from any device using a podcast app or feed reader (e.g., Feedly, Inoreader, iTunes, Juice, Castbox, etc.). Most of these apps have the option to download automatically, so that each "episode" is ready when you want to listen. The LibriVox catalog uses the same technology to make each of our books and collections available as its own podcast feed - each chapter, poem, or audio section is its own "episode" within that feed.
What you need to get a podcast:
- A podcast receiver (sometimes called a podcatcher or a podcast app) is just software that will find and collect the files you want. There are podcast receivers for every device and operating system you're likely to use, and they support a wide variety of features.
- The "feed URL" of the podcasts you want (often referred to as an "RSS feed"). You'll enter this URL into your podcast receiver, in order to "subscribe" to the feed.
Finding RSS Feeds
Every page in the catalog has a short set of links just below the description. Two of them are related to podcasting and RSS feeds, labeled, "RSS Feed" and "Subscribe in iTunes."
To listen to any LibriVox audiobook using your podcast app, you can either click on the "RSS" feed link (some podcast apps will then open automatically), or copy/paste that link into your podcast app of choice. On mobile devices, you may need to long-press the button in order to see a "Copy Link" option. On a PC or Mac, you will need to right-click or Ctrl-click to get that option.
As an example, to listen to Adam Bede by George Eliot, on a PC, go to https://librivox.org/adam-bede-by-george-eliot/ and copy the RSS feed link by right-clicking on the green "RSS Feed" button and select Copy Link Address. Paste this link into your podcast app and search/subscribe (the terms they use will differ). Each section will show as an episode in the podcast/show. Click subscribe to automatically download, listen and enjoy!
Instructions for Specific Apps
ipodder
After copying the RSS feed URL as described above, open ipodder, choose "tools" then "add a feed" and paste the link into the "url" field. You will be able to download past podcast episodes and automatically receive future episodes (if subscribing to the Community Podcast, rather than a completed work in the catalog).
iTunes (may be outdated)
To subscribe using iTunes, you may copy the LibriVox Podcast Feed link in the same way, then in iTunes choose "advanced" then "subscribe to podcast" and paste the link into the "url" field. Or, you can simply click the Subscribe by iTunes button on the catalog page. If you get a pop-up, choose "launch application". iTunes will launch on your computer, and the LibriVox podcast page will appear. Click the "subscribe" button, and you will be able to download past podcasts and automatically receive future podcasts.
