LibriVox est un rêve, une expérience et une question: est-il possible de rassembler suffisamment de volontaires sur le net pour insuffler la vie à des oeuvres libres de droit??

Les bénévoles de LibriVox enregistrent des chapitres de livres tombés dans le domaine public avant de rendre les fichiers audio disponibles en ligne. LibriVox est un projet open source entièrement bénévole, dont le contenu est à libre accès et libre de droits.

La plupart de nos textes viennent de Project Gutenberg et nos fichiers sont hébergés sur Internet Archive.

Objectif

Notre objectif est de convertir tous les libres tombés dans le domaine public en livres audio disponibles gratuitement sur Internet.

Fundamental Principles

Les cinq valeurs suivantes sont au coeur de la philosophie de LibriVox:

  1. Librivox est un projet non commercial, à but non lucratif, et libre de publicité
  2. Librivox fait don de ses enregistrements au domaine public
  3. Librivox est maintenu par des bénévoles
  4. Librivox a une structure flexible et ouverte
