In this discussionon the forum, ductapeguy remarked that we need, ...

‘Flash-mob’ projects that need an extra push. You know the type. Been in progress for 9 months, but won’t go into labour. With one concerted shove, we can get these into the catalogue.

Two projects that immediately come to mind that would benefit from a "gentle push" are the Junior Classics and 20000 Leagues Under the Seas. The only concern I have about this approach is excluding (or annoying) the volunteers who have signed up to complete chapters, but have not as yet produced them.

jim mowatt suggested,... The 'jamboree' system we did (or still do when someone steps up to co-ordinate it) was similar to this and had that 'event' quality that David talks about. A hit squad hitting particular projects would be good though and would be quite exciting all working together. I got some of that working with Kara on 'Our Island Story'. Seeing that Kara had recorded another chapter spurred me on to do more and we could each see the chapters changing magically to completed chapters as we rushed onwards toward the finish.

I like the name 'hit squad'. It has vitality. It needs -

a. a wiki page b. an aim (maybe particular projects, to finish or give them a push or maybe to do a whole new project) c. people to sign up for the team (maybe this would be a permanent hit squad or maybe you'd sign up for a particular week on the hit squad maybe they'd be signing up for particular projects in a particular week)

Proposal For Librivox Cleanup Crew

When a collaborative project has passed its due date(s) and has had no forum activity for over one month, volunteers may make a note on the forum that they are claiming and recording unfinished chapters of the project, for the purpose of completing the project and getting it catalogued.
