Hi. My name is Debbie. I've been a LibriVox volunteer since February of 2007. I was born and bred and currently live in a small town in Northern Lower Michigan. This is the exact geographical location out of all the English-speaking portions of the planet where the residents have no accent whatsoever. :)

I have a B.S. degree in Mathematics with an English minor. I had enough English credits for a double major but, oddly enough, more of them needed to be literature credits. I have been an avid reader since I learned how to read. However, for some reason, I steadfastly stuck to reading 20th century works until several years after I had graduated from the university. I guess it's always sweeter to do something by choice than by requirement. (I'm such a rebel.)

At this writing, most of my favorite books were written in the 18th and 19th centuries. Thomas Hardy, Charles Dickens, and Jane Austen got me started and I just got hooked. When I discovered PG and eventually LibriVox, it became a lot easier to find reading material to feed my habit.
