Donating LibriVox CDs

There are several discussions about how to donate CDs of LibriVox recordings.
Technical Information
The general consensus is that, although many CD players can play .mp3 files, many cannot. Unless you are sure that your intended recipient can use .mp3 files, it is better to burn in .wav format, even though you can fit much less on a disk. Better to have an hour of reading that is listened to and enjoyed than many hours worth encoded on a nice shiny disk that never gets used!
